Have a painting club at your sims house. Not only can you sell your sims paintings but all the club members as well. And the club members painting improves as well as your own. All you need is easels for each member. If you aren't in a hurry you can sell them on plopsy.
Also you can get rich quick by selling nectar to the cowboy in town.
