Medium, vet, and pet training are not hobbies, they're skills. They don't really need a spot.
As far as reading and things like others have suggested, I guess it's kind of pointless because there's already relating traits like bookwork that effect autonomy and fun. It might be nice to see sims dislike it though.
They are activities, which one might or might not enjoy. And a lot of people are asking for them, which means obviously they are not pointless. - marea_a_moon4 years agoSeasoned AceI would like spellcasting to be added. I know it is not really a hobby, but if adding it meant my spellcasters could automansly cast spells once i assigned it to them as i like, i would like that very much.
- excusemydust4 years agoSeasoned ScoutWhy? :( Why no flower arranging? Why no juice fizzing? :'(
- I really hope that they will add the missing ones in the next patch, it is such a shame...
- occult activities, knitting, chess/board games and reading are some i really missed

There should've been Prank Toilet as a dislike to keep the goofballs in check! :D
Hopefully Mischief as a dislike will keep that in check. - dianed4854 years agoSeasoned AceIt's missing a lot I think. Here are just a few things :
- Something about animals,
- Ice/Roller skating,
- Water activities,
- Reading,
- Watching tv/movies,
- Karaoke,
- Shopping,
- Working,
- Likes/Dislikes Piercings/tattoos
- Specific likes and dislikes for Vampires, spellcasters, mermaids
- School/doing homework
- Travelling,
- Favorite or least favorite food/type of food.
- Favorite season ?
- For kids : Toys/playing - mellowgamerchick4 years agoSeasoned VeteranI agree with adding a bit more. Like the hiking, knitting, flower arranging, etc. I mean some of my more creative sims engage in hobbies that aren't on that list of preference. Even reading a book/doing homework/studying should be on the list because a lot of sims do it and sims could have the "bookworm" trait.
- amapola764 years agoSeasoned AceI think one of the most disappointing things about the missing activities is that it's almost everything my kids do. As a result, all but one or two of the kids in my sim families have been restricted to a favorite color, which doesn't do much to make them feel more unique.
- paigeisin54 years agoSeasoned AceI realize the likes/dislikes are going to be in the update which limits how many activities can be added at this time. But there still seems to be more missing that really should have been included. Because this is a base game update, we have to wait for activities from all the packs that are available now. That's a lot of packs to go through then choose the ones most important to the players. I am happy the likes/dislikes system has been implemented because our Sims will seem a bit different from other Sims now. I just hope this doesn't drag on and on like the Off The Grid lot trait where it took several packs and updates before that lot trait made sense and could be utilized as it was meant to be utilized. I was surprised to see how many base game activities and skills were not on the list of what we'll be getting. Seems to me starting at the beginning would have made more sense.
