As it stands right now, sims are able to sleep while in the scared emotion, which makes no sense to me. When I'm scared, I cannot sleep. This is a very common thing. You should need to calm your sims down before you can send them off to bed. Whether that results in them passing out from exhaustion is simply a consequence, something the game really needs.

I see what you’re saying but I’d suggest instead that this only applies to the “Terrified” state.Otherwise other moodlets like “Energised” and “Tense” should mean no sleep either.

I agree with @RySBI, it makes sense if you're terrified - it would be way too intrusive if you couldn't sleep while scared.

I wouldn't want sims who are scared to not be able to sleep but I do think they should have the chance of waking up in the middle of sleep from a nightmare. This could cause them to get even deeper into fear. I think sims scared should also gain energy slower and even if they get a full nights rest they wake up feeling horrible.I do like the idea of sims who are terrified shouldn't be able to sleep.One thing I would like to add is that sims who see a ghost should be scared just from seeing them. That being said, after further testing I've noticed that sims do actually wake up with nightmares if they try to sleep while scared, or rather nap. I haven't noticed any nightmares from normal sleep.

It's kind of implied the sims can't see the ghosts until they possess things, but you have the ability to talk to them if you want so who knows.

I agree that scared should be less negative than terrified, but You also should keep in mind how hard it is to get the scared emotion in the first place, let alone terrified. Perhaps it will be easier with a haunted house, but right now my sim is happy because her needs are up and she's got one plant and a painting in the room, despite a ghost currently haunting the lot.

Anything negative in the sims 4 is usually seen as intrusive, which is why things like vampire break ins were nerfed despite being a pack all about vampires.

Oh wow, I love the implementation of nightmares when Scared! I didn’t realise that was a feature. I think that’s a perfect middle-ground for this.

I can only speak from my own experience, but when I was a child and I was afraid of monsters under the bed (or whatever nonsense kids get scared of) I’d still manage to get to sleep eventually. I guess it differs from person to person.

I’ve noticed that all Sims get the “scared” moodlet whenever there is a thunderstorm, which I would find very annoying if it meant my whole household couldn’t sleep/woke up.
