You know, I've been playing for probably 30 or 40 hours now since returning to the game, and having fun except for the bugs and really bad AI behavior in some cases... but as I read through this thread and thought about it, I realized something: I don't think I've ever once seen one of my Sims autonomously get into an argument with another Sim. In Sims 2, this happened plenty of times. If a neat Sim saw a slob Sim making a mess, she would let him have an earful. I have not once ever seen this. Children are right in front of the parents making a horrible mess, and they just stand there and watch. I have to select the option to discipline or nothing happens.
I could see if I had autonomy checked off, but I don't...
I guess disciplining children is optional in case you wanted to make your sims spoiled little brats...Which is okay. I guess. There are many ways to play the game. I tried getting all the character values of my sim kid in the red once and it was fun. Would be a lot harder if sim parents were programmed to always discipline bad behavior autonomously.
