I've twice created a blizzard with the weather machine during Spring and Fall and both times it didn't stick.
Is this normal or could it be a bug? Tried Willowcreek and Newcrest.
Sort of the way it is in real life - if the ground is not frozen snow hardly ever sticks because the ground is actually warmer than the air due to ground cover that has not gone dormant yet and produces thermal heat that melts snow on contact usually. Like when you walk around in falling snow - it melts on your skin because you are not frozen - so yes that would be quite normal in real life - very realistic.
Here in Maine we get lots of early snowfall in Autumn ( I have even seen heavy snow flurries at the state fairs in late August and early September - before Fall even - but it never stays long of course until after at least Halloween. Kids here often go trick or treating in snowsuits even. But You need a real hard freeze to first kill off all the ground cover and start freezing the ground - you need the ground to freeze pretty solid at least down 9-12 inches below the surface before snow can really stick more than a few hours. Doesn't matter what the air temp is- for snow to stick ground temp needs to be frozen solid fairly deep and all ground cover fully dormant.
In Canada this happens in fall and spring too, these are called flurries, and as soon as it hits the ground it melts so the snow doesn't really pile up and the ground is just wet."catloverplayer;c-16577602" wrote:"luthienrising;c-16576997" wrote:
I would imagine it depends entirely on the temperature and is normal.
Temperatures were at freezing.
Yeah this seems like a bug then. I wonder if it's a bug with the weather machine or if the blizzards happen naturally.
I read somewhere using weather machine to summon weather like snow it wont accumulate also transition will be become too quick not gradual
