Yeah, there is certainly much laughter/excitement to be found in the disappointment of others.

Yes, of course. When a pack sells so well that it breaks records, it's a sad, terrible, funeral like affair, and in no way boosts the game overall, lead to potentially more resources for future packs, or anything of the sort.
Because, you know, Cats & Dogs didn't put Sims 4 on the public map again or anything. :p
You like being one of those offending scary people that supports something you like too huh? We can wear the hats of shame together.
Yeah, I like having the unpopular opinion of liking the game on the official forums for it. I enjoy irony. ;)- MidnightAura867 years agoSeasoned AceGoing by the school of thought that this is a good thing for people who don't have cats and dogs: How on earth can it be considered a positive they want to sell you a rodent and a bunch of content (pet costumes/prints) you cannot use?
That's like selling you clothes that don't fit. Where is the benefit of buying a rodent and knowing a large part of the pack is inaccessible to you? Would people who can't run cats and dogs buy a pack that comes with content they can't use? Seems silly. "TheGoodOldGamer;c-16363104" wrote:

What are you talking about? C&D is the best selling EP for Sims 4, but what records did it break?
The game has reportedly been doing just fine for awhile now. If EA were going to put more money into Sims 4 they aren’t going to do it after they release a highly anticipated pack that they knew would sell. If anything they saw that they could sell a pack that added the bare minimum. Barely any toys, barely any beds, dogs can’t even sleep on Sim beds, there’s a handful of interactions between sim and pet (not including the standard socials which are applicable to everyone), no small pets. Assuming they are going to put more money into this game that they have actively cut funding for is just unrealistic.
What records did it break? It's the best selling pack for the Sims 4? :D Pretty sure that's a record right there. It was enough for EA and Maxis to make a big deal about it, considering how seldom they talk about sales and such for the game. I think you're underestimating the impact of it. As for the rest, you're just letting your jaded side color your words, so it's whatever.
When a pack sells well, the game it's attached to always gets a boost. Maybe it's just all profit. Maybe resources go back into the teams. Maybe the EP team gets a boost (or other incentives like bonuses in their paychecks or something). But there is an impact, somewhere. Doesn't matter if you like the pack that sold. That's just personal preference.
By extension, if the new small pet SP sells well, the SP team will undoubtedly get a boost. Who knows what that will lead to?
EA has consistently mentioned Sims 4 in their earnings calls for like the last 2 years. This is EA we’re talking about, they have way too much caught up in their other franchises to allocate anymore resources toward PC Sims 4. No matter how successful it is. Do the executives get bonuses? Probably, but that’s not my business - nor is it really any of my concern whether someone that I do not personally know gets a bonus. Weird motivation for purchasing a product.- MidnightAura867 years agoSeasoned Ace

Have to agree. My husband is a game developer. I must go into fan forums and remind people to get their pre orders in as he needs a boost! - kuhpflanzen7 years agoSeasoned Ace

Where does it say that this is a 9.99 stuff pack and not a free update too add onto cats and dogs? By free update I mean like the holiday stuff pack. I will wait until the trailer tomorrow before making assumptions.

we are getting a sort of new pets stuff pack that will add a new pet and new pet outfits and that sounds like that is about it. seriously is anyone else excited for that. i really want to know if anyone else is looking forward to that pack. like who thought it was a good idea to make a stuff pack to add extra outfits for pets -_-
New pets pleural. I'm sure there will be birds and other small animals not just a rodent.
They did not say pets plural, they said pet. So please stop confusing people. Misinformation, and all that jazz. - janyses7 years agoSeasoned Ace

I'm looking forward to it. Not every home can afford or want a bigger pet like a cat or dog. Smaller pets would fit in nicely.
Would have fit nicely in the actual pets expansion. You know, the one that came out less than 4 months ago.
We got a pets expansion 4 months ago?!?! :o The pack I received was called Cats & Dogs. I want my money back. - Dreamprisoner7 years agoSeasoned AceI'll see when there's more information. I'm not that keen on small animals, but I do like animal print...
However, if its paid content, I'd probably give it a miss just for principle. Small animals, at least, should have been in the Pets expansion. - janyses7 years agoSeasoned Ace

It is a guarantee that they will. And we know next to nothing about the pack. For all we know, the clothing may be the only content that is inaccessible without C & D. - MidnightAura867 years agoSeasoned Ace

We know it contains one pet.
ONE pet. That alone is a slap in the face to those who justifiably want small pets. Not stuff pack per pet.
