So what do you think they're announcing during the next Maxis Monthly?
SimGuruKate said they'd be announcing something at the next Maxis Monthly in November they we don't know about yet. My personal opinion is that it's going to be what's coming with the December Holiday Update but I could be wrong and it might be some Game Changing Feature to the Base Game. We already know cars are ruled out because Grant said they haven't started making them yet.
We know 1 more gallery update is coming this year but I don't think Kate would mention that because of a gallery update.
@Cheekybits I agree, I believe there are two different things happening. The challenge, which is the small thing, and something bigger that could be considered game changing.

Not necessarily. Get Famous comes with the vault that lets you lock up money and expensive items but burglars aren’t included in the pack itself. Unless burglars are the mystery feature the vault doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. And neither would a high security toilet for that matter ?
Maybe I will buy Get Famous just so I can put the vault gate on every bathroom in my sims houses so unwanted guests get trapped in there, never to be seen again! Put a cowplant in there too and your sims will be set for life.
Don't forget that other Sims can attempt to break into the vault. Plus, I like the idea of my Sims being able to separate their funds from the family. Not to mention all of the other vault interactions. The vault makes a lot of sense for the way I play.

You have to play The Sims 2 to understand.
Because I have played TS2, I will never understand that obsession either. :D Sure, cars would look nice in front of the house, but all they would add is an option to drive everywhere you can also walk, and a new woohoo spot. Definitely nothing game-changing about that. I do hope, though, that if/when cars are reintroduced, we will also get a derelict model to work on and restore ourselves like the one in TS2.
Burglars... I don't know. Not including them with the pack that introduced police was a missed opportunity, and unless they come with some intertwining gameplay with said pack, I don't really care about them anymore. Not saying that can't be the new feature, though, I have no idea what it's going to be, but since the last thing people got hyped about (even though the developers told us not to) was just a gallery update that no one asked for, I'm not going to get my hopes up for anything exciting, no matter what the game changers say. In the end, everyone has a different opinion on what would be the most welcome addition.
"Fun but small" things that would excite me personally: Proper inventory management, memories, zodiac signs, new stairs, new rabbit hole careers, the ability to rename worlds, bug fixes. There are probably more that don't come to my mind right now, but if it was any of those, I would be pleasantly surprised.
Well, that's where our expectations differ. Since this game has loading screens like TS2, I expect EA to add more to them than just a woohoo spot. I'd want them to have even more interactions than TS2 did. However, if TS4 cars only provided the ability to drive, I'd still prefer that to walking everywhere. How many celebrities (or just people in general,) literally walk everywhere they go? Even to other 'worlds' and vacation destinations?
Vehicles are important if only for immersion purposes, and whether or not they're 'game changing' depends on what EA does with them. We already know the suprise isn't cars, anyway, so that's a moot point.
Are we at this moment 100% sure that the "small but fun" feature is the same as the "you'll lose your minds over it" feature? I haven't seen a definite confirmation that the same feature is being talked about in both instances.

I am just so curious haha
The simmers who went to the event are called Game Changers, so I guess they enjoy talking about things as Game Changing (or something like that ;) )
