This might be a stupid question, but why won't the developers just say what they are currently working on? What would they lose if they said hey guys we're currently working on this and that, instead of two months before releasing the game? Wouldn't people get more hyped, consider staying with ts4 and be able to make requests/wishes?
I totally agree with you. I’m not sure why they’ve chosen this hush hush approach with sims 4, but I find it frustrating at times, as I’m sure many do. There would be far less whining about people wanting seasons, for example, if they said it was the next pack (like they used to do back in the day). But... I guess that’s their choice
Omg yes this would be great at least for me I'll be excited knowing what I'll buy and what not to buy. - ChadSims28 years agoRising Rookie

If only... the game would be so much better if they listened to the community we would never have got restaurants where we were forced to hire townies and only be able to work as the manager if they took suggestions while creating packs the same goes for the joke of a retail system of Get to Work.
As for the quarterly teaser I'm going with second week of January on the 9th pretty sure they got the first week off last year. "Alve;c-16228408" wrote:

Apparently they are not allowed to, but I’ve been asking myself that question since day 1- catloverplayer8 years agoSeasoned AceSomeone on Twitter said this year's quarterly was the first week in Jan which was the 6th so maybe late next week.

I was pretty sure it was January 4... but in any case, I’m thinking it will still come this week. Maybe between Wed and Friday"Dannydanbo;c-16238917" wrote:
I don't think it will be the first week (although I'd love it). They will probably need to get back into work and get set for the new year.
Does anyone else remember last year when a guru said that they were excited for 2017 because of all the great things they have planned? I do. I also remember there were a lot of negative reactions to that comment. I hope all those people enjoyed eating their words.
There was perfectly legitimate reason to be skeptical of that comment. 2017 was fine but it didn’t completely blow me away. Of course I’m very happy for toddlers though! People don’t end up feeling bad about being wrong if it all turns out to be awesome. There are many times I would GLADLY be wrong. Like, I think Seasons will not come until November. Will I be sad that I said that if it comes out sooner? Nope. I’ll be ecstatic to be playing it sooner than expected- Ok so earlier in this very thread, @LeGardePourpre posted the previous quarterly releases and it WAS the 6th. The 6th was a Friday after they went back to work on the Tuesday. So it could be the Friday again this year, assuming they go back on Tuesday again.

I didn't see the tweet, but if I did, I'd be eating my words right now. Well, I would've been eating them since the toddler patch.
Sims 4 has definitely improved a lot this year. It still has a long way to go, and there were several blunders (ball pit, anyone?) but at least we can see some growth now.
And I hope we get a teaser this week. I'm interested to know what's next. Even if there's content I'm not interested in, it would be interesting nonetheless to see the next direction they're taking. - DomainGoat908 years agoNew Spectator

Why eating their words?
I mean 2017 sure must have been amazing for people looking for specific content, such as pets and the other packs, but not everyone likes the same stuff.
People waiting for Seasons and nothing else might also say that 2017 was.. 'meh'.
Everyone likes different things, so for one person it's amazing, while for the other person it's not that great.
And SimGurus are ALWAYS very excited about every product they create -duh-, so nothing wrong with being a little skeptical about it.
To me 2017 was 'okay'. The Toddlers were the absolute highlight for me. Vampires I don't really care about (although they are done well this time around) Parenthood was imo a decent pack, and Pets, pff.. I don't know. I like the world, but I personally have never really been big into Pets EP's in the past.
Still waiting for Seasons to blow me away. (ehhh.. at least, wishful thinking). - catloverplayer8 years agoSeasoned Ace

For me 2017 was meh. It didn't really improve till we got Cats and Dogs which was the one pack I really love. I liked many of the packs eg the bowling stuffpack but nothing really blew me away till Cats and Dogs. Hoping 2018 will blow me away several times starting with tropical vacations.
