Social Media followers question

It happened to me as well. It kinda disappointed me because of how unrealistic this is. but oh well, my sims are rich now:)

Where is the 'upload video' option? I'm only level 6 (? The one that's niche broadcaster) and I'm not seeing it. Not sure if it's a glitch or I'm just not seeing it.

Your sim needs to be at level nine of the Internet Personality branch to be able to upload the video.

I have a sim who is not even in the social media career who was able to upload a viral video. I think it became unlocked because of his charisma skill which is at level 10. When he did it, he gained 400K followers.

Thanks for the replies! I'm not sure how it unlocked for me. After a day of having a social media account the option came up. It could've been related to her charisma skill but she is still level 1 in her career. She has not got promoted yet. Happy it's not just me. I just thought it was so odd.

Hello :) It is great that you gained so many followers! When your sim reaches level 10 in the charisma skill, like what fullspiral said, you can upload viral videos.

Pardon me for kicking an old thread, but I just had the same thing happen and came to see if it was normal. Not in the social media career, but uploaded a video and got +600k followers, pushing me to 600,374. (My last action, an image upload, was only a +25 bonus.) On top of this, the message indicated that the video I uploaded was panned! Horrible quality! Makes me wonder how many of those new followers are in it for the schadenfreude.

Anyway, two additional questions also popped up as a result of my recent Sim-social media use, so if anyone peeks in and sees my post...

1: I take it this update message on new followers for each upload was added with City Living, because of that carreer?

2: What happened to the "Invent New Hashtags" interaction?
