I wanted to give this to my sim but I don't want him having too much of an issue making friends. How does this trait work in terms of making friends? does it make it difficult?
I like the traiy. For the most part sims have a hard time socializing or not letting the convo tank. BUT your sim can work on their awkwardness to help that by clicking on a mirror to do so and working on charisma helps as well.
Haven't played with the pack yet, but I believe people who have say that you can practice being less awkward or something like that on any mirror and that should help by increasing your charisma skill. I hope this is true because the way it works now it seems pretty hard to make a lot of progress T__T
So far my sim didnt have many problems with the trait, she even got a sweet sentiment with Molly because she told her about her awkwardness (something like "she got my back"). I watched James' too, and not only was his early excess his sim also has the overachiever trait which also makes socials harder, so it might be that combo. Cuz my sim doesnt have it that hard at all
It's perfectly fine and I hope it doesn't get nerfed. You can work on yourself like others have said, charisma helps too, but also there is online now, and awkward sims make friends better online.
I haven't played with that trait but I have seen people say it's a little over the top and watched James Turner on you tube where his socially awkward teen had a terrible time making friends like every interaction was negative. He had early access so I'm not sure if it was nerfed a little when officially released but that's the main reason I haven't picked that trait as of now
