I loved TS2, and the animations seems a bit more dynamic/natural than in later editions, but I think lot of our love for that game is colored by the fact that we came from TS2 which was quite flat and static. Sims did not age, we could not zoom into them, objects could only be watched from 4 set angles. The jump to TS2 was marvelous, I recall I spent weeks just fantasizing about getting this close to my sims. It was like entering a completely new era - which it certainly was.
Not ditching TS2 in any way, but I wonder if we would praise these nice details as much if they belonged to TS3 that came at a point when we were used to the new dimensions? I think the jump from TS1 to TS2 was miles bigger than the later jumps.
