This issue has now been isolatedI am playing a new game and noticed that my Sim suddenly changed into one of those weirdo outfits.What I have spotted is my Sim has been given multiple alternative outfits for the outfits I gave my Sim when I created him - ie the game has given him an extra 4 party outfits - He has 4 additional sleep outfits, etc, etc.I used to think this problem was based on weirdo work outfits, but it is clearly a wider problem.My Sim now has 18 outfits to choose from - 12 of which were forced on me by the game.Can we delete or edit any of the extra outfits?No wonder an NPC Sim can walk around like a weirdo if it has tons of random outfits to choose from.

Yet again, one of my topics helps the Simming world to figure out some weird Maxis system.You live and learn.However, somebody with a normal-functioning brain would view the arrow as a selection arrow - ie it says to most people 'this is the selected outfit category; - It hardly screams "Click me, Click me!!! I have hidden goodies!".

I knew I should have played Skyrim today.

I launched Steam first thing today and pondered all of the goodies I could play - then, as if cursed, I launch Origin and decide to give TS4 a chance to redeem itself (for the 420 billionth time).

Ah, wait a minute!Maybe one of you did this then?I am not sure if the Sim was made by me or not. It could have originated from The Gallery.Yes - I tracked the Sim back in my collections over his evolution to someone called samxvn.So, there is the answer - this Sim became unattached from the original creator, but had all of the original creators alternate outfits - ie, I only ever edit the top-level main outfits.Mystery over.

These things overwrite the options of 'Plan Outfit' - ie, if you have a game-created outfit active on your Sim (not one of your outfits), then that outfit is active in 'Plan outfit' - so you cannot access your own outfit there, it is the game-created one.It sucks.

Some Sims have additional outfits that confuse anyone that doesn't know

Why does the game need to create random additional outfits?

How is this balanced? ie for Swimwear, it created no additiona outfits; HOWEVER, do some Simmers get a Sim that gets 10 additional Swimwear outfts and no additional party oufits, etc?

Is this just some kind of random outfit lottery to amuse Maxis?

Each category has 5 outfits. You can change them. I usually give all my actively played sims all 30 outfits. I think with laundry day it was made so that they automatically get the 30 changes of clothes to go with having to wash. So click on the mirror or dresser or go into cas and change them to what you like.

How do we edit or remove them though - ie how do we do this with the ones that the game creates? What if I want to delete some?

The game creates additional outfits for your Sim? I've never heard of this happening. There are bugs where your Sim will return from school or work in something ridiculous like a towel, but all you have to do is switch outfits and it's fine. Do you have a picture in CAS of all the additional outfits?

If this is really happening, go into CAS and just press the little "X" next to the extras.

I have never tried to delete one but if you don't want different outfits just pick the same thing for each option.

So I just went in again and saw the option to remove items. Just make sure the one you want to keep is selected then hover the ones you don't want and the x will appear.

I like to see my sims in different clothes so I design all their outfits.

Oh wait, it is the other arrow thing. Mine points upwards - I clicked it and now it points downwards.
