You can probably figure it out if you have the presence of mind to look at their moodlets when they become hysterical. The descriptions of the moodlets should say where they are coming from.
Perhaps you have one playful moodlet stacking with a whole bunch of happy moodlets. The happy moodlets increase the playful and that can tip over into very playful or hysterical easily.
The bolded part is what happened. He had 1 playful moodlet and a whole string of happies. I didn't realize they were interacting like that. I guess I should have considered it. ?
That sucks though because I guess the lesson is "Never a happy and playful sim be, lest the Grim Reaper come for thee."
