When my wife, Wren became hysterical, I immediately took her to the nearest mirror to calm down. She died right before she started the interaction with the mirror. Her husband, Edmonda, was able to plead for her life and she came back.All was well until Edmonda became hysterical so again, I sent hom to the mirror. He too died in front of the it!Wren pleaded for his life but the Reaper would heat none of it so I quit the game. I have no known playful emote objects enacted on the lot. And I noticed that Edmonda first became playful two days ago when he received a silly fan letter. His mood would never change for long. Was the letter laced with something?From unexpected quadruplets to hysterical deaths, this family is getting wrecked!

My sim self's son Andrew was an actor and for his work gig he had to research the playful emotion. Within seconds of clicking 'research playful emotion' the camera pans to Andrew and he died with in seconds of clicking on research playful emotion!

My sim died yesterday of hysterics too, and I have no known objects to cause hysterics. This has never happened to my sims before. I was watching another sim, and I saw my other sim in the process of dying, and my guy pleaded but to no avail, so maybe it is a bug.

She did research the emotion and was almost immediately hysterical before she could even do any of the interactions. Edmonda is not an actor though and did nothing of the sort. It is possibly a bug because I've only ever lost one other sim in this way and that was long ago. Of course that was a once bitten, twice shy situation so I try to keep my sims from being playful at all once they reach YA to keep it from happening.

You can probably figure it out if you have the presence of mind to look at their moodlets when they become hysterical. The descriptions of the moodlets should say where they are coming from.Perhaps you have one playful moodlet stacking with a whole bunch of happy moodlets. The happy moodlets increase the playful and that can tip over into very playful or hysterical easily.

I didn't realize they were interacting like that. I guess I should have considered it. ? That sucks though because I guess the lesson is "Never a happy and playful sim be, lest the Grim Reaper come for thee."

Wow, that's insane. My sims still keep getting hysterical so I think I may need to turn off emotional death. It needs tweaked at least.

The playful moodlet can be dangerous. I’ve lost 2 sims the exact same way you did. They became hysterical and before they could calm down at the mirror the grim reaper appeared. Now anytime I get a playful moodlet I watch what other moodlets it’s combined with. If there are too many happy ones I immediately try to get rid of the playful one even if it means tea or berries. Just get rid of it asap.

I had only one sim dying from laughter in my game, ever. It suited the story that he passed, so I almost clapped my hands in fascination. He had just married and his wife had just informed him she was pregnant - he was loaded with happy moodlets on this day, so I ditto what was said above - watch both Playful and Happy moodlets.

Why does all of the fun stuff happen in your games? You may find it annoying, but I wish it happened in my games lol

I have had a quite a few hysterical deaths recently. It is by far the biggest cause of death in my games apart from death by old age.

I so extremely dislike the death by hysterics. I always make sure that my sims has lots of inspiration emotion stuff & to drink the moodlet potion. That always prevents the annoying death.

I can't say I hate it. It's a play on the phrase "I died laughing." However, it does need tweaked seriously.
