I thought the Sims 3 store was a good value for me. I know it wasn't for some players -- but I got a lot of value out of my store content (still do). Good Old Gamer -- individual items in the store started at about 25 cents and moved upwards from there.
I also think that there are a lot of players who are going to get value out of My First Pet. It really depends on the player and what they want, need, and use for their games. I don't think anyone can honestly tell another player what is a value for them and what is not. That's up to the individual person to decide.
