Spellcaster reading spell books above their level?

I have a spellcaster who's an acolyte and I bought her the "tome of furio", an adept level spell book, in advance of her ranking up (she's more than halfway there). A little while ago I clicked on the...

@haisin that was my mistake about learning a spell above her rank; furio is actually an acolyte rank spell. It was chillio, an adept spell, she was able to study but ended up not being able to learn. Sorry for the confusion, rl has been crazy the last few days.
