So a few weeks ago I had a sim spend a full sim week baking all the wedding cake varieties and then on top of that I had her spend another sim week baking all of the regular food/baking recipes. I did this because she had the fresh chef trait and I wanted to be able to sell all of these things at my in-game retail grocery store. The sim was an elder and she literally DIED on the last day of this process....with about 12 gourmet cooking recipes left to do. Anyway, today I'm playing one of her granddaughters who is a scientist and it occurred to me, if I had given her a robo arm she could have finished all of that cooking and baking so much faster. *smacks forehead* Her grand daughter does robotics and has made robo arms for several other sims in my game. I thought the robot arm only helped in the robotics skill, I never thought it might speed up other skills. Guess I never read the description properly. I will give the robot arm a try in one of my next play sessions

You talking about smacking yourself in the head, it's good thing the granddaughter can't make robo arm for you. From the sound things that's the hand you might have used to smack yourself with.

@Stormkeep thanks for the explanation. I wish I had known this two weeks ago. The day before reading this thread, my sims finished backing loads of cakes, pies, wedding cakes and bread for their bakery (all with the fresh chef trait) . Though I didn't do ALL recipes like you. It took me long enough to fill one bakery.

This is quite unfortunate, but it made me laugh. Both scenarios. But I do wish you well Stormkeep :smiley:

Have you considered reviving her? - In the spiret of Easter...? I Do it when I have unwanted deaths in families I really cherish.

Also; I fiend the wedding cakes spoil very quickly. They don't fit in the cake display and you can't place them in the fridge unless you drag it/ "open" it. -No "official" action. But maybe they changed that with some of the updates since the pack came out?

Beside that I have to say that im so happy I read this I actually didn't know you could use the arm on a sim! So I learned something new today, thank you very much.

@Stinalina, they did patch to solve the problem with wedding cake spoiling so quickly, but in the case of my story that's not even an issue, because the sim doing the baking has the "Fresh Chef" trait, which means things they cook and bake never spoil.

Also, just an fyi, you can fit the wedding cakes into the bakery displays by shrinking them. The same way you can shrink anything else in the game, by turning moveobjects on and hitting the [ key while in BB mode. For my store I just put them on raised pedestal flooring though, seeing as they were made by a Fresh Chef they don't need refrigeration.

We can't all be "Fresh Chefs" - We deserve pretty wedding cakes on display too :wink: I had weddings where the cake spoiled before they even got to cutting it! But im already over the wedding pack, so many problems with the gameplay. I will go back eventually and see how much have been fixed. Im glad the cakes are!

I didn't think about shrinking them, but sure you can do that I guess. I just think its a shame when they actually look so pretty. Would love to be able to display them in their actual size in a nice cake display. They deserve that :smiley:
