It has more bonuses for the robotics skill (specifically the skill gain increase is for robotics only, and it protects from electrocution at the robotics work station).
But it also has a generic "20% crafting speed" bonus which applies to all skills that are crafting. It didn't occur to me until yesterday that this should include cooking. It only occurred to me because I was updating one of my personal mods related to cooking and I was in a cooking tuning file, where there are a few places that specifically call out "crafting".
Using it for my 2 week cooking/baking project would have saved my Sim nearly 3 full days of effort...she would have survived to see her project completed before dying of old age!
