Hi @GalacticGal, you need lots of extra vaccine to throw/spray during the fight and you need to direct your team how to fight. You will get the option to do this once you have started the fight. Also, I would suggest using a team of four (including your active sim). I'm not sure whether it is possible to win with only three sims.
Thank you. After three defeats in a row, I looked up Carl's guide on how to defeat this monster. It was very instructive. I had ultimately five to help defeat the thing, which I was finally successful at. Yikes. Not only that but I played on high speed, the battle was over before I knew it. I learned that you need to allow for a cool-down on certain interactions. Having the team 'Be Careful' is an aide to keep them from getting infected, for instance. Dr. McCoy, although vaccinated and recruited always left the scene. He was absolutely of no help. Scotty, Kirk, Spock, Uhura and my O/C, who was directing things managed to win. Yay! So thankful that's done.
Now, I can have them move on to a more tranquil life. My O/C is an Archaeologist of note, so even when she settles into a domestic life, she'll have something worthy besides raising the children that will come along, to do.
