Spooky Parties: How do I get Sims to come in the costumes I set for them?

Hi, wondered if anyone could help me with this? I would like to host a Spooky party with a few of my Sim household's friends but find everyone keeps turning up wearing completely random outfits ins...

They really should add a costume category in CAS for spooky day/parties I really hate random outfits picked out sometimes I don't even know which Sim it is what without clicking the name. Also none of my Sims should ever be using Star Wars outfits and that should be my choice.
