So we have this leaked logo: https://64.media.tumblr.com/3856b89ab9b2d2d350895e4573dc5390/f8628f97c8f0e757-c1/s250x400/084a1f3063ffc3fcfef39e2ff2df95d0f2190817.png That bears a striking resembla...
So, some of this is going to reiterate what I've already said in another thread, but overall I think a Galaxy's Edge/Battu themed pack is incredibly likely given the icon. (I can't see anything else in that icon now, and the three suns thing is way to specific of a detail.)
While Star Wars in general might seem like too much of a departure in terms of theme, there are several elements of Galaxy's Edge that would make it work very well as a Game Pack.
To start, Battu would work very well as a vacation destination. Battu is already kind of set up like a Sims 4 world. (This is the map rendering of Galaxy's Edge in California for reference:)
The land consists of 3 distinct areas-a "First Order" area, a central marketplace, and the "Resistance Base". These could all easily be a "neighborhood" in TS4 terms. Additionally, assuming Battu is added as a vacation world (as I suspect it woiuld be) a 4th "neighborhood" could potentially be added in space above Battu, where your accommodations would be-just like the Galactic Starcruiser hotel that Disney's building in Florida. (The conceit of the hotel is that during your 3-day stay, you are actually going into space and making planetary excursions to Battu.) So far all we've seen of this hotel is concept art, but speaking of that concept art...
(Also, as an aside...you know how that one future cube hint really seemed to point to bunk beds? I'm not going to say that recreating that hotel would be the reason for making them, but...bunk beds do seem to be a feature of this hotel.)
Perhaps this would work something like Realm of Magic. You check into your room, and then when you're ready to visit Battu you travel through some sort of portal to the planet itself.
Realm of Magic could actually provide a pretty firm foundation for a pack like this. One of the story elements of Galaxy's Edge is that while visiting Battu, you choose an allegiance-you can choose to help the Resistance, help the First Order, or become a Smuggler...kind of like the 3 types of magic that we got with RoM. Instead of meeting magical sages, you meet Rey, Chewie, or Kylo Ren. Instead of buying a wand, you build a lightsaber. And instead of getting a familiar who flies behind you, you build a droid who rolls behind you. (Look, that's probably...85% of the reason I'm excited for this idea. Little BB or R2 unit buddies would be so cute.) You shop for special clothing and toys and search for special collectibles. You search for secret messages, intercept transmissions, and earn special "credits". Over time, you build your allegiance to one of the three areas based on what you do-just like with magic.
This concept also does check off the "major first" box mentioned in the roadmap. The Sims has always used general aesthetics from the real world to design its' environments, but it has never directly recreated a place in the real world. Even with TS3's World Adventures, they weren't recreating Cairo, Paris, or Shanghai. This would be a direct recreation of someplace we can actually visit, which has never been done before.
And then there's the fact that, with EA holding the video game rights to Star Wars for so long, a Star Wars pack has probably been on the idea board for quite some time. Basing the pack around a vacation to Battu is probably the only way The Sims can ever do a Star Wars pack, as having your Sims live in the Star Wars universe permanently would really necessitate a full spin-off game like Sims Midevil. But by making it a vacation destination-much like Battu is in real life- it can fit in alongside the rest of the game.
