What an interesting survey...I would argue the reason why my age group/sexual orientation do not care for the Star Wars pack is because we remember the "glory days" of the Sims 1, 2, and 3. That and the new Star Wars pack breaks tradition of the franchise, which many of us have observed and known since the beginning.
We remember the detail and imagination Maxis had put into it's content of the past, and how now it has been diminished and watered down from a detailed world that inspired story telling into a world of rushed deadlines and corporate greed. It only returns to the fans in a negative way, producing glitchy software to the point where gamers rely on modders to fix these glitches instead of the ones who actually made the game in the first place. Maxis still listens, but EA and those who don't understand the fans control the wheel, steering clear of giving us too much for our money like the days of Sims 2 and 3.
I hope Sims 5 will be different, but unfortunately the next gen will still be overseen by the same clueless higherups who are making today's decisions.
In spite of being a Sims 1 Day 1 super fan, I now secretly root for a competitor to put EA in it's long overdue place.
I will be donating to Paralives the amount of money that Sims 4 Star Wars will cost. It deeply cuts the heartstrings, but it is time that I speak for those who truly care about the gamers instead of buying a GP to complete my collection. I boycotted My First Pet Stuff as well until I got it for under $5, since my principles do not agree with that capitalist stunt as well. No matter how much on sale SW is, I will not be purchasing this one, as it is about as useless and a clear cash grab as Sims 3 Katy Perry's Sweet Treats Stuff was in my humble opinion.
