Static tV and Scandals

Hi everyone, just want to find out if anyone else are having the same issues as me? My sim constantly wants to watch static tv, where they stop whatever they are doing and then switch on the tv to static and the little ghost appears???? Constantly!!!!! Second issue I am having is that the scandal scenario keeps staying on 14 days irregardless writing apologies or runs down to 6 days and then back at 14 when I go back into my household? What am I to do about this????
