- ldm27 years agoNew SpectatorAlso stop having the kids go to the fridge & grab a snack while the parent is cooking a family meal.
- Reddestiny9217 years agoSeasoned AceHaven't really noticed I usually have whoever is the chosen cook prepare a few meals while everyone is full, sims don't want to die of hunger they'll go for food if you're not watching them and their levels are too low.
- It's also annoying when they just got up and decide to grab fish tacos for breakfast, even though there also are good quality pancakes in the fridge. It's something I find even more annoying.

It drives me batty. lol My sims will just hit the yellow, no where near ready to drop over from not eating, and they will go and try to make a meal. I'm like, dude, just stop. Just wait until your wife finishes up fixing the dang meal."Huiiie_07;c-16410671" wrote:

YESSSSSS! Like I will have my small families make party sized breakfast so it will last a few days, and they still will not pick those meals for breakfast, they will grab either cake/pie or what was made for dinner. Really drives me crazy as well."GoldenBuffy;c-16411044" wrote:

It might just be a problem how it could be changed. Maybe mark some food as breakfast and others as lunch/dinner? So sims won't autonomously grab things in the morning that is marked as lunch/dinner? I don't know if this would be possible though, I don't know anything about coding.
Now that we're here about issues with food: Did anyone notice that sims, when cooking autonomously, will only cook a 1-plate meal? It's so annoying when the whole family is hungry, they want to cook something, and I'm like: "yeah, gj!", but then they just make a single plate and I'm like: "Do you want your family members to starve? It's that what you want?"- SimTresa7 years agoNew Traveler

Or cake! I've taken to just dumping the cake in the garbage after the birthday party, unless another is coming up before the cake goes bad. Otherwise they eat their cake while I'm not looking, then two hours later they're hungry again, at which point they either have to starve until they can get home from work/school and eat, or I make very sure they don't go for more cake. - Kita53997 years agoNew Spectator

I started doing this too. I play very large families, so their was always a ton of cake and they only seem to want that. All my families were getting fat (not that there is anything wrong with that, I'm no super model myself ;) ) I think if you place the birthday candles before putting the cake in the fridge, it keeps Sims from grabbing it, but I'm not 100% on that.
I also avoid the popcorn because all my sims want that for dinner as well. - 4Susanna137 years agoNew Spectator

I totally agree with you both and also started tossing the cake.
Funny thing is, my sims have my bad habits. I guite often grab supper leftovers for breakfast and who doesn't like cake! - SimTresa7 years agoNew Traveler

It does. Cuorse you also have to be quick if you've got a hungry sim making the birthday cake in question. Twice, when I took my attention off them for a second to see what a family member was up to, two different sims managed to eat the cake before i could have them put candles on. Thought one was just going to put it in the fridge so I didn't pull it back out soon enough.
I discovered that you can put a full or nearly full popcorn maker in the famly inventory without losing any servings. And they can't eat it if it's in there. - SimTresa7 years agoNew Traveler

I only do that if i've slept in late, or if it's the day after Thanksgiving or Chirstmas.
