- Make sure you are getting the storage chest. Toyboxes don't work, and the new thing in Kid's Room is a toybox.
The disappointing thing to me is that you can't have more than one. Well, you *CAN* but they behave as one box. You can't use them to separate your collections. - Which chest are you trying to use?
These are the two chests that you should be able to put at least some stuff into (there is some limits I think of what you can place in them though I don't know for sure since I've never actually used them in game)

What are you trying to put inside exactly maybe someone would know if it's possible or not to place it inside a chest.
If you're trying to put stuff into the chests that look like these...

They are toy boxes and won't allow you to put anything inside that's not a toy. - I use the storage chests all the time. I haven't found an upper limit to what they can hold. But not everything can go into them. Just collectibles, I think.
- pepperjax1230Rising NoviceThanks I never knew that and my sim is a scientist so she is always collecting stuff.
- elliebretonSeasoned AceI thought they were just deco chests!
- I had no idea... :)
- Ooh! Never knew about this. Thanks for enlightening me :) xxx

I tried one of each. The ones saying they were toy boxes I could put toys in and out of. The other ones I couldn't put anything in, even toys! What I actually wanted to put into them was the crystals and stuff I had been collecting, but I tried everything and nothing went in. The "Open" option was there, but I could't drag either between inventories, nor from floor to chest.
Funny I used them for the crystals and minerals and excess glow fruit in particular. I have no clue why you can't use yours for that. Unless you have some CC or a mod giving you an issue with them. I have no CC and no mods in Sims 4 or Sims 3. That's the only thing I can think of that might be creating an issue for you. Have you tried removing your mod folder and repairing the game. That might help. Try the storage bins before you add your mod folder back in and see what happens.- I already did a game repair and mod removal for my invisible harvestable plants (the ones where the lemons just hang in thin air) and it made no difference at all. So I don't want to have that hassle again. The only thing that might be making the difference is I placed the chests on a community lot (a museum) and was trying to store spare exhibits from my sim who was visiting the museum into the museum's chests. I managed to pull the stuff into the display cabinets, just not into the chests.
- I tried to use them for my scientist at work, but you can't put anything in there. They only work at the sim's home lot.
