Hello!So I know that there's MCC Story progression, but I'm not very familiar with how it works in Sims 4, as I only used it in Sims 3.Back in Sims 3 I remember my townies having kids with one another, so much so that it was becoming increasingly difficulty as the generations went on since most people were related to one another.Is this still an occurrence in Sims 4? Are we able to control the marriages, kids, "divorces" etc... for the townies? I'd love to be able to have a town that self populates. My main concern is that too many people will be related to one another down the line.If anyone is able to provide some guidance (or even a link if there is one for the mod + explanations) that would be appreciated!

TS4 is constantly producing townies, so as long as you don't have a mod that stops that, I think it's impossible to get to the point where everyone is related.There is sooo much customization with MCC, you can choose relationship change rates, marriage rates, pregnancy rates, adoption, gender prefs, etc. You can even flag townies to never marry if you want.

And if you don’t like the townies the game generates, you can always find some on the gallery. People upload households on Tumblr too.

Is this still the case?The key in MCCC is the percentages. I have mine set so that Adult NPC sims get pregnant at about 5% and YA at 2% this so far seems to allow random pregnancies in my NPC population without creating a massive baby boom. The default is Adult NPCs at around 20% which in my experience seems to eventually have nearly every adult NPC I see pregnant. Yes you still click on a computer to adjust the settings. If you want to browse all of them click on one of the three topics listed without keywords.

I use MCCC, and I have fiddled with settings to come up with what works for me to prevent the problem you describe.I have abductions, and therefore male pregnancy disabled. I'm pretty sure that's in the "occults" module. This might not be something you want, I don't know.I have only one age set to allow pregnancy, and that's YA. Thereby hopefully allowing most sims to at least see their grandchildren, if not great-grands.I have homeless sims never allowed to move into a house, marry, or become pregnant. Only townies are allowed those privileges! I have allowed children set to 2, so no townie will have more than 2 kids. Your actives can have as many as they wish, of course.This should cut down on the population explosion, but of course you can always move in new sims, either of your own creation or from the gallery, for "fresh blood". You'll just have to make sure to leave a few houses open for them to move into. It might sometimes be necessary to maybe help a few elders shuffle off the mortal coil a little early, or maybe arrange a pool accident for particularly ugly or obnoxious sims. :D I hope this helped, but your playstyle may not match mine at all. This is how I play, but the variations are pretty much limitless.MCCC will seem intimidating at first. Start a new save and play around, get used to the settings. Also, Deaderpool's discord is always active and the folks there are beyond nice and helpful. Don't be scared to ask for help.

Another tip: Once you get your settings to your liking, make and keep a backup of your mc_settings.cfg and update the backup if you make other changes later. I treat mine the same way I regularly back up saves, screenshots, mods, and so on. MCCC isn't really a difficult mod to use, but it does take time to get it set up your own preferred way. :)

Hmm, I honestly don't know. I do remember the "prefer home sim" setting, which is what I have selected. I don't remember seeing the living home sims... maybe it has to do with ghosts. As @VeeDub recommended above, I back up my mc_settings.cfg and just move it to a new install every time Deaderpool updates. I've kept the same setting for an eternity lol. I should take my own advice and make a new save to play around and see what's new. I hope someone can answer your question.

For the backup (as I'm not really tech savvy) do I just save the .cfg file as a copy elsewhere and then move it back in after there's a new Deaderpool update?

Yes, once you have your settings the way you want them copy the MCCC .cfg file. I put it in a folder labeled MCCC CFG and keep it on my external hard drive, but you can put it on your desktop, thumb stick or wherever. Then when DeaderPool updates and you download the new version you can just copy the cfg and paste it into the folder where you have MCCC.
