actually, you can spread it yourself ;) you can get sims to eat the new fruit and infect them. you can find this interaction under mischief when you have the fruit in your inventory
How do you cure it (only by the "vaccine")? Or is it only temporary without the Mother to battle?
I've seen pics of placing the Mother in Sixam and it looks like an interesting storyline.
