StrangerVille question(s)

One of my vampires from Forgotten Hollow accidentally got infected by drinking from an infected. Other than that, I can’t remember ever seeing zombies in other worlds, unless of course you somehow turn your played sims into zombies yourself, as it happened to my vampire.

You can plant strange plants on lots in other worlds, but they won't grow in neighbourhoods outside of StrangerVille, and other strange occurrences such as the sky turning purple and tendrils coming out of bathroom appliances are restricted to StrangerVille as well.

If you want StrangerVille to be a completely normal world, you have to play through the story at least once. But other than that, the rest of your worlds shouldn’t be affected.

That is interesting. I play a lot of vampires but I've been lucky apparently because none of them have been infected. Not that it would be the end of the world if they did. It just wouldn't fit any current saves or any future saves I'm thinking of doing. I have occasionally wondered if it could happen and I will be careful now that I know it can happen.

That aside, I have never seen evidence of the Strangerville storyline in any of the other worlds either.

Ok, thanks for the answers so far! I don’t have the Vampires pack so that won’t be an issue in my game.

I think another way sims in other worlds can get infected is if your sim buys a bizarre fruit at the curio stall in Strangerville & gives it to someone to eat.

I've never seen an infected sim in any of my other worlds. The game is pretty normal for me except for the odd infected sims in Strangerville and I haven't played out the story for a long time.

Strangerville is my favorite world for many reasons but it's never one impacted my other worlds. It would have to be prompted to infect another using the strange fruit.

You can either play the story line or not. A few sims will walk around funny if you don't solve the mystery but they're already infected.

You do have to play the story line to heal them but I think it's a total of maybe 4 sims who are. When they aren't in Strangerville they act normal such as if you happen to see them at a restaurant etc. In my experience it affects nothing outside the world.

I played through 3 1/2 generations in my game before starting the Strangerville story and never saw a single infected sim anywhere, not even when I visited Strangerville, until I had a sim actually move there. Then there was one sim who behaved like she was infected while in Strangerville, but never when she was elsewhere....and even in Strangerville, talking to her changed her behaviour to normal each time I did run into her there.

The only time I've ever seen an infected Sim in any world other than StrangerVille was when Ted Roswell showed up at the Romance Festival in San Myshuno. It was doubly hilarious since this was before the situational outfits were somewhat given an overhaul so he was wearing one of those DJ helmets. :D I have not seen another infected Sim since then, this was years ago.

Well, I got the pack. I like the CAS assets. For now I’ll be playing my existing saves, and then in the future I’ll start a save specifically to explore the pack properly.
