If you want to hold off on playing your main save until the new infants are added, but still want to do story telling with Erik, you could do a “What if…” save, where you explore taking him into pursuits other than music. “What if Erik became a doctor? An astronaut? A writer? An Actor?” You could set it in an alternate universe, or just frame it as Erik’s musings about where his life might have gone if he had chosen other career options.
Something like that could be short term fun until the new pack comes, wouldn’t affect your main save, and you can easily move back to your game at whatever point you choose when you’re ready.
That's an amusing concept, however already played out. I brought Erik into 'being' if you will in Sims2. There was no chance of him being a singer back then. So, he campaigned and became the Mayor. He never married, as it turned out. Lived alone in an apartment. A nice apartment, but that was the best I could do for him at that time. It wasn't until Showtime dropped in Sims3, that Erik came fully alive. He quickly rose to be a Superstar filling huge stadiums, but his love life was little more than a joke. It was sad in its own way. He'd fall in love too quickly, get engaged too quickly hardly knowing who or what she was. In most cases he broke things off before they walked down the aisle, though. He finally married and ended up divorced with custody of his only child, a baby boy. Then he fell in love with the young Nanny (I created her myself) and they married and had several more kids. I thought he would have an easier time of it in Sims 4. But, still he had a hard time finding the one. Made for some rather interesting story-telling however.
Maybe I should be taking
him through the Unlucky Chef scenario? I just know that right now I'm bored as all-get-out. That's rare for me.
