Stupid Question: How do you get costumes for your sims?

What do you mean? There's a costumes tab in the outfits category.

They come up for me when I click the tab for full body outfits too, but Sigzy05 is right, there's a costume tab
My funny clothes problem was that I couldn't find socks when I first started playing lol
One of my people had socks on with their fancy evening outfit and I couldn't figure out how to take them off!

Weird, I'm in CAS right now to create a new character, and in the Outfit Category tab, it only lists Everyday, Formal, Athletic, Sleep, Party, Career, Swimwear, Hot Weather and Cold Weather. I do see that there is a category in cosmetics for costume makeup. Where is the tab for costumes?

There isn't.

Usually there are costume preset styles that already give you all the items needed in that style should you look in the Party tab under Styles. However you won't get as many style options if you have just the basegame.

I was really replying, indirectly--probably should have quoted Sigzy05-- who said there was a costume tab, which surprised me. And I was ingame and could see none so labeled. Sorry, should have made that more clear.

The only time I have seen something specific to costumes was when I had a spooky day event going on and I clicked on my sim and got an option to choose a costume. I was given some preset choices. I wasn't thrilled about that.

However, I haven't had much experience with parties or costumes in this game, so I may be missing something.

When you click the full body section of clothing options, you get options for full body type outfits, one of which is an icon of a hot dog costume. That is the costume category.

It's not a clothing category as in formal wear, party wear, etc, it's a category as in long dresses, short dresses, lingerie, etc.

Maybe he means there is a costume tag for clothing, not an actual section in CAS like Everyday, Formal, Athletic, etc.
