I understand the confusion, it is not what I would consider "checking in", especially since the CL Media career actually has such an interaction. They should think about renaming the task, because this just causes unnecessary frustration with a career that I think is pretty fun and especially great for single parent Sims. Both of my stylists (in different saves) live in Oasis Springs, so I have "clients" either passing by or knocking on the door every day.
