Suddenly Having Lots of Alien Abductions
Recently, this family of Sims I've been playing for generations have been plagued with alien abductions, and it's getting a bit annoying. I don't want my Sims to get abducted, and I don't want my Sims...

@PurpleNightOwl Someone in anouther thread I read recently was asking the opposite of your question, they wanted more abductions. Some of the advice that person was being given, might give insight into something that you might be inadvertently doing that is increasing abductions.
Astronaut career
traveling to Sixam
having space rocks on your lot
being friends with aliens (even family member aliens) or undiscovered alien townies.
high in scientist career
Contacting aliens with the radar dish or wormhole generator (which I'm guessing that you are not doing LOL)
As for the alien townies...they have a slight glow of the color of their mood if I'm not mistaken. If I'm wrong about that, someone please correct me, I wont be bothered.
These are the things that I could remember. As I said...maybe your sims are doing one of these things inadvertently. I have noticed though, in my game, that the abductions seem to go in waves.
