Talent showcase and opting out of fame....

Can these go together? I have my games set in a way that my Sims can't automatically get famous without my say so. I have a large rotation with lot of households but I don't want everyone to be famous, even though they are in a career where it is actually the norm. For instance, the entertainment career. Baako Jang is high in the Comedy branch of the entertainment career but I don't want him to be famous just yet. Mostly because I haven't decided which of my entertainers are going to be famous. For my sanity I am NOT going to have ALL of my entertainers or Sims from other careers to be famous.

For instance I have only set my mind of one painter and one writer that get to step into the spotlight. Well. 2 writers but I haven't gotten around to the other one in my rotation since getting Get Famous.

However I do want Baako (and others who might become famous in my game) to do the Talent Showcase which will show up in a couple of Sim days in my game now. What will happen inside the fame system if I put him out there without having to have him step into the spotlight? Has anyone tried?
