Teens living alone (or with other teens) is quite common here in the UK. Any university town here has lots of teens sharing houses by themselves. Sure they are generally 18+.
I left school at 15 to go to work and was living alone and working by 16 which was not that unusual at the time.
I wanted to move out at 16 but my dad wouldn't let me. He said he was responsible for me and would report my car as stolen since he had to sign the okay for me to have it. :#
A car? @16? Cool. Driving law here in the UK is 17, so I had to rely on Shank's Pony (lower part of the leg - very strange censor bot - means walk) and my thumb :)
Yes, I was fortunate enough to have a job outside of school, and bought the car and paid for the insurance. It wasn't a pretty car, but it had awesome audio! lol :)
