Tell me about your Starlight Boulevard global star event!

So, Thorne Bailey made it to global fame! He is only my 2nd sim placing a star on the boulevard in Del sol Valley. It was a boring event, just one or two fans appearing. I wonder how I should handle the ceremony to et the most out of it, crowd wise.

I checked calendar and phone to see if I was supposed to plan/throw an event, but found nothing. Was I supposed to plan a "meet and greet"? I think it would make sense if my sim could at least invite family and close friends. It would feel natural at least having one fan fainting, signing a couple autographs and seeing the paparazzi. He brought to celebs to the boulevard, but they ran off when he started the thing.

Is the only way to invite sims to hang out on current lot, then I'd be in trouble as the star brick pavement is not actually on any lot...

So, how did your event turn out, and what did you do to make it a bigger event than Thorne's?

    On what lot did you travel with Thorne to place the star? Im not sure but assume the Studios lounge spawns more fans and stuff than Ward Park..
    Also wait a bit so there is time for sims to spawn, before starting it.

    It has been a while, but I do remember my sim had pretty much crowd.

    He celebrated his birthday at the go-go orchid lounge first, there were a good crowd watching him, and they could easily have followed him.

    I had him wait 1 hr before placing the star. I think waiting 2-3 hrs would be weird...

    Maybe we need to form a "I am placing my star" club (GT) and at least bring 7 sims over :)

    It was in the same trip? If so, maybe fans were already tired or for other reasons going home.

    Try next to travel directly to that accolades lounge , and do the ceremony directly after some sims spawns to the lot?

    She did sign a lot of autographs and took pics with her fans. Not sure if that had an effect though. I think I only did one Meet and Greet the entire time.

    My first thought was to create a group with her family members but I ditched that idea when her grandmother showed up in her underwear. ?

    That looks great @simgirl1010 . Perhaps your celebrity paid attention to her fans beforehand? My Thorne never did that. Could there be a hidden grading of how you deal with fans - or celebrity perks even?

    Did you click the option for the event once there? I had my Teen Global Superstar travel with his parent and siblings, and once there he invited his girlfriend to hang out. But Erik gave three successful Meet & Greets and has lots of fans, besides a Stan and two Obsessed Fans (from the Road to Fame mod).

    I believe having a Simstagram account also helps build the body of fans.

    That's more like it!

    Well, perhaps I took it for granted that Thorne, a premade celebrity, already was a popular character with a decent number of fans. I must admit I didn't have him focus a lot on his fans, probably because he way too often shows up as a NPC asking for attention in my game. Always looked at him as a true star, but okay, he might still be a bit wannabe star despite his fame.

    Yes, he started the event while on location.
