Terrible teens

Is there anyway to get the Teens to be less difficult when they come home from school? Every day when they come home they are either mortified or embarrassed and their fun is so low that they refuse to do any homework. It takes them awhile to get up to speed and I have to struggle to get them to do the homework let alone the extra credit. Even when one of the teens has a genius trait it and and loves working on the mental skills it still wants to avoid homework. Any way to get them easier to deal with. Is there a parenting interaction that helps?

i've got homework clubs for both teens and children (and sometimes build 'do homework' into other clubs, like the scouts club). but the biggest thing i've got for you is to have your teens 'jog to clear mind' once they get home if they have one of the mood swing moodlets. the jogging will drop the mood swing pretty fast and work on their emotional control skill (which is said by many to be one of the hardest to raise up if you don't use things like 'jog to clear mind')

If I'm having a Sim teen or Child who is having an emotional issue, I have them write in their private journals. This is a good way to build emotional control.

I was literally going to comment this until I saw your reply. I see you there on my wavelength. ;D
