- Though I agree with you, it's actually doesn't have anything to do with sexism and more to do with the player base of the sims. Sorry to say, but sims has a high popularity rate with girls and women more so than males. It's possible EA knows the genders base percentage in who plays the game the most, plus if you go to YouTube you will find that most sims gameplay channels happen to be women. If you look at the cc community from sims 3 to 4, content for female sims out beats content for males numerously. I know there are men who play the sims, like pixalade, James, LGR, and other non male youtubers who are not vocal and play silently, but it just seems to be popular with the ladies. So that's probably why you see more options for female sims more than males sims or just the other life stages in general. But I do wish there was a lot more content for male sims, children sims, and elders. All of them are really lacking in my opinion.
- They didnt even add new beard style since base game as far as im aware, the new trend for male is the monkey's tail beard which im currently trying to have so EA should follow the trend since they are usually quick to adopt the new trend as of late.

Probably because men’s clothes and hair have scarcely changed since the early 20th century. Also because when they tried to give bolder fashion options in packs like Romantic Garden, CityLiving, and Moschino people complain they were ugly and ridiculous. I mean let’s face it. What’s in the basic CAS catalog is what men wear, T-shirts, sport jackets, suits, sweaters, hoodies, jeans, trousers, shorts, and tank/vest tops. Then some outer wear, like parkas, or pea coats, trench coats, denim or leather coats. The shoe range in the catalog is pretty much what I see most guys wear on the daily. Except some of the fancier ones. I don’t see men wearing those everyday but sometimes.
I mean let’s be honest men’s fashion in real life just isn’t that broad or that creative outside of Hollywood.
This is so true too. It's literally all men wear especially in the U.S. I do have tons of cool cc for men but it's like cut out shirts the average guy wouldn't wear, Hollywood fashion, Bollywood fashion, east asian traditional wear, cyberpunk stuff and just stuff that we would probably never see in an official pack because it's so "uncommon"
Plus I call It the barbie syndrome. (Most)Girls just love to dress dolls, girls, and babies because of all the cute fun creative options we have???
It's definitely not EA doing it in purpose or too be funny. It's like the reality of life. - It's sex appeal I think, which sells more. It's a universal problem for us males across multiple games. I wasn't personally bothered by it until I started having more men being born into my family. It's also a 2 sided problem. Less clothes for men and more objectification for women. We both are kind of losing the battle here. I'm not sure if a balance can even be found.
- I wish there are more hairstyle and beard designed for men too. Look. Even female gamers would play with male characters in game.
- As others have said, it's probably due more to the fact that outside of particular subcultures (like goth, industrial, etc) or Hollywood men don't really wear a lot of different options for clothing compared to women rather than blatant sexism. At least here in the United States (where Sims is based.) I can't say what the situation is like in other countries. But at least in my part of the US, I've never really seen guys in anything other than the basics we already have for them in CAS. (T-shirts, jeans, shorts, sneakers, combat or cowboy boots, jackets, flannel, button down shirts, hoodies, muscle shirts.)
I do wish there were more options for male Sims, and agree that there could be more effort put into giving us more male clothes, but the reality is, it is very rare to see guys in traditionally more "feminine" (as in clothing aimed at women) clothing like mesh tops for example. Yes, there are men who will wear them, or whatever else they want regardless of what society says is "feminine" or "masculine," but I'm just saying that it's very rare. - I'm desperate for more male CAS items! I know you can just download CC but even male CC is sparse. It's sooo much easier to find stuff for females.
- This is a very stupid thread.
- simseey4 years agoNew Spectatorcalling it "sexist" is a bit off, but i kind of agree
- The title is a tad dramatic but yeah, male hairs in this game are so disappointing. The options are severely lacking and for the most part the ones we have just aren't good, basically every single male sim I make has CC hair as I only like about 2 of the male hairs in game.
We need more simple styles like these:Spoilerhttps://i.ibb.co/jf7L8dr/01-30-21-3-16-21-PM.png

Just normal male hairs are severely lacking. One other thing I've noticed is that when they do pushed up hairstyles like these, they make them too big. I don't want hair to go so high up like these. It's too much, we need more toned down options.Spoilerhttps://i.ibb.co/SBZ0JvT/01-30-21-3-18-13-PM.png
