Fashion is just more popular among girls so they are always the main target. Even when cc shopping there is 20× more girl stuff and I have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for nice boy stuff. But it's not an EA issue it's everywhere. And girls are also the big majority of players for this game.
I do wish it was equal because as a girl who wants boys in my game with plenty if options! Cc has filled the gap after years of collecting here and there ?
I have to disagree here. If someone just looks around looks at hairstyles men have it's usually not a hairstyle that is 'trending' in Hollywood or TV or anywhere else. The men I see have all types of hairstyles that I never see in T4. I know TS4 wants to stay current with the hairstyles of what stars have now etc, but regular guys have their own styles and some of them may even have a style that was back in the several decades. What would be great is to pull some of those styles back into the game (as in the other games) from each decade so we can play our way.
What is seen today are clothes and styles I have already worn so I can't really say TS4 is all up to snuff with current styles been there done it already in my real life, but what I want to see is many different styles from all the decades of simple hair cuts down to bushy, beardy, hippy trends. The females get outfits from many different decades that were fashionable at the time. Why not males. ETA: I would like to see that style of long hair for males where the sideburn/temple area is shaved out making it clear they have sideburns but longer hair over it. Stuff like that where it's clear it's male style and not just a style taken from gender patch. It may not be 'trendy' anymore but neither are many of the hairstyles females get in this game. I think more is always better so we can build an individual and not a Sim who looks like anyone else. ETA: Sory, quoted the wrong poster, I was replying to the person who said male fashion wasn't much more than a tank top, jeans, a shirt, a button up shirt and trousers, and a suit.- netney524 years agoNew SpectatorIt’s not just the male adult sims when you look at the male child and toddler clothes in relation to the females they get less options too. The game needs more male cas items across all age groups
- Trowicia4 years agoNew SpectatorI wouldn't call it sexist, but it is a tad bit disproportionate and I really wish EAxis would look into balancing that a little more moving forward.
I shouldn't have to download tons of male CC to compensate for lack of variety when it comes to men fashion in the game. - Lack of options for guys is probably why I only enjoy making female sims! I haven't messed with CC yet, I'm worried it would slow down or glitch my game.. I see so much CC used that I want though!
- As some others have stated, I don't think it is necessarily a sexist thing. At least not intentionally. But I do agree that the male's options are very lacking. (Other age groups as well, but this is about the males.) Even with CC, the options one has to choose from is lacking and a bit disappointing. Masculine content is a much much smaller percentage than females in both game and CC. I enjoy creating males as well. I don't have nearly as many of my own as I do females, but I would be more inclined to create more if there was a wider range of content to choose from. A lot of my males have CC and when I make a non-CC version of them, I end up being a bit disappointed. Some may think it is a small issue, but it is still an issue nonetheless.
@Pamtastic72 Complaints about the bolder options is unfortunate and disappointing in my option. Just to get it 'over with' when I just want to play and not be in CAS long, I use the randomizer. Sometimes it lands on those bolder options in a different swatch, and I'm pleasantly surprised.
@MeowchaFrappe In real life, a lot of men do seem to choose a more basic and subdued wardrobe. I am from North America also and I see this often as well. Those who pay more attention to fashion and looks are deemed 'metro' or their masculinity and sexuality is questioned. (Which it really shouldn't be these days.) So although that may seem the norm in real life, I agree there needs to be more of an effort put in when it comes to male content. Like @Cinebar said, I think other decades might be interesting as well. To have that option to build more individuality.
@MsKatieRose I find myself doing the same. Being all boring and using the same thing over again... lol
@BrittanyChick22 I agree. Content is quite lacking in other age groups as well.
@Onverser I end up doing the same us well. Using a lot of CC for male when it comes to hair and such. When I make the odd non-CC version of my guys, end up being disappointed by the lack of options. Often ends up no longer feeling like who they are.
@Sk8rblaze Hair and facial hair improvement definitely needs to happen. Also body hair added. Many males have body hair. It's just a natural fact... lol. Would be nice to have that option if one chooses to.
@Movotti I really like these! I kind of want them as well... haha ;) "Onverser;c-17792211" wrote:
The title is a tad dramatic but yeah, male hairs in this game are so disappointing. The options are severely lacking and for the most part the ones we have just aren't good, basically every single male sim I make has CC hair as I only like about 2 of the male hairs in game.
We need more simple styles like these:Spoilerhttps://i.ibb.co/jf7L8dr/01-30-21-3-16-21-PM.png

Just normal male hairs are severely lacking. One other thing I've noticed is that when they do pushed up hairstyles like these, they make them too big. I don't want hair to go so high up like these. It's too much, we need more toned down options.Spoilerhttps://i.ibb.co/SBZ0JvT/01-30-21-3-18-13-PM.png

This is something like I'm talking about. Thank you for posting the difference. Many of the people in my area just have a simple haircut and not piled high. I just want more normal styles rather than what is trendy.- This is something I have been bothered by for years. And to those making excuses because more players are female, well that type of thinking doesn't feel fair for a game that is supposed to be inclusive does it?

why do females get 4 times more cas like hairs then males, what ever happend to eithen rights, that sexist.
I dislike all their hairs regardless of gender options. You are free to use them on a male FYI. Some patch made that possible a while back. Or go download hair from websites. Most simmers always find an option around the game devs standard options given. Aka: mods & CC. You don't have to use that as an option but it is an option if you get fed up. Also buying more of their content will award more hairs so I have noticed.- Chicklet453684 years agoRising TravelerI think the whole imbalance of female vs male CAS is the simple fact that TS4 proudly boasts that they have a unique player bases of females 18-24 years of age. So, I guess they figure since more females play the game, there needs to be much more female CAS items.
I use CC so I'm not too terribly bothered by it. But when I am playing CC free I also pretty much just use the same clothing/hair over and over for my males. I'm not really into metro type men who have higher maintenance than me, I just prefer the look of "manly men" .... jeans, boots, leather jacket, scruffy facial hair and call it a day.
