Okay, nevermind.... turning off AVG Anti-Track didn't solve the problem for me. Dang it!
I turned off my AVG anti-track and it still doesn't solve the "internal server error" problem.
I can only access the new sims forum with the Chrome browser. Both Firefox and Microsoft Edge still continue to give me that blank white page that says "internal server error".
Troubleshooting attempts I've tried:
- disabling all browser extensions/add-ons, and then rebooting my computer
- deleting all cookies/cache/history/temp, and then rebooting my computer
- adding a 'new exception rule' into my antivirus program for the new site address, and then rebooting my computer
- turning off my AVG anti-tracking program, and then rebooting my computer
- turning off my AVG antivirus program, and then rebooting my computer (only temporarily to see if it might be an antivirus issue)
But nothing seems to work?
Does anybody have any other suggestions/help/ideas on how to solve this problem? Are other people able to access the new sims forum using Firefox or Microsoft Edge? What is this new site doing (security-wise, antispam-wise) that only the Chrome browser can get through?
I've been using Firefox as my default browser for 25+ years and I don't think I've ever encountered this "internal server error" issue ever before on a website (at least not that I can recall). So I'm at a complete loss as to why this is happening. And to add even more confusion to the mystery... Microsoft Edge doesn't like the new site either, so it's not just a Firefox issue?
Edit to add:
I'm using my Firefox browser in Answers HQ right now with no problems.
Did you add Forums.EA.com to "allowed websites" in Anti Track?
