Yeah, I don't see what purpose it serves. The snow is barely covering the ground, with only a few piles here and there. It will never stop sims from going anywhere. It gets more pointless when the pile they are headed for is nowhere near their house, even :D
I'm absolutely trying out that mod @LaBlue0314 mentioned. And while I'm at it, I'll look for more mods to stop other annoying behaviour. I'd like to be in control of my sims, not have them drop actions I've told them to do, just so they can play in the rain or a mud puddle or whatever waste-of-time action they can think of :o
