I'll never understand. Simmers want Gurus to act like Gamechangers and Gamechangers to know what SimGurus know. The whole Sims community was chaotic during that live stream and the worst displayment in chat that I've seen since joining the Sims community back in 2015. I bet that majority of people complaining about the stream being professional don't even stream themselves. Think you can do it better, prove it. Streaming is hard. Gurus aren't robots. Game Changers aren't robots. So give them a break geez. True SimGuruGraham is good at streaming, but he's had practice with non-Sims streams and I enjoy watching his channel a lot. It took a lot of trial and error on SimGuruSteve's part to even get the streams as good looking as they are now. I still struggle with streaming myself. There were so many bots and fighting during that stream, I had to rewatch it just to understand what was being said and believe me it isn't easy to ask questions while children are fighting in chat. I am just glad I didn't have to mod that chat, because I'm not as forgiving when using my ban hammer. That just was the most toxic chat I've ever seen and there was no sense of Sims community in it. It was a war zone there that makes even the League of Legend trolls look like a "safe space".
I agree that people were acting childish in that chat (CAS, CAS, CAS) but it's almost always like that unfortunately. I do understand that makes answering questions difficult.
I also completely agree that doing a stream is probably harder than it looks. But for that very reason they need to just start working out exactly what they'd like to say beforehand. Not just fire up the game and make it up on the spot. I sometimes have to interview customers
and I need to prepare for that too. When something is difficult and risks ending up going nowhere you can do a lot of damage control by simply preparing an approximate outline of the things you'd like to talk about and the order you'd like to follow. They also don't need to do a 2 hour stream for that matter. It'd be fine to prepare a 1 hour overview of the best highlights, then do a Q&A. They can even skim the sims forums and socials to get a good sense of what people want to know most about.
We're not asking them to be professional flawless streamers, just put some good effort into it. Don't always seem so lost and constantly ask "ehh right what else could we show' - this is something they should know before going in.
