Im still running windows7.
I can see why you might be having trouble. I remember Sims 4 was one of the first games tested against Windows 10 so it's made for it. At least though, you can play Sims 1 and 2 in the usual way. I can't play 1 and for 2, I now use Origin if I want to play it.
After January 14, 2020, if your PC is running Windows 7, it doesn't receive security updates. Please be careful.
I’m still running Windows 7 Bootcamp on a relatively old, but powerful Mac Pro and TS4 (or any other game) is working like a gem, on ultra settings and a truckload of mods. I also keep my system secure and updated. No problems there.
I would suggest you keep your Windows 7 machines and when ready get a new Windows 10 when you can afford it. Windows 10 doesn't play a lot of Sims games now without difficulty as I've found.
You do get used to Windows 10 eventually and I haven't needed a separate virus program as Windows Defender gets updated almost every day and I (touch wood), haven't been attacked by any since I installed Windows 10 in (I think 2016) when first out. I've got used to Edge too but the latest update of that is to beware of. (It saves favourites as htmls and destroyed my list last time and I couldn't find it anywhere). :#
As long as it's all going jazzy, I certainly won't be giving up my current system because of the older games.
Eventually I will need to build myself a proper gaming PC: get some decent components and save some moneys.
Let's not derail the topic too much though. Unfortunately it won't help getting these future worlds any bigger. B)
