The garden plants are being a bit.......wonky

Is this a new bug?

My plants are losing their quality. I have several Perfect plants, but when my sim woke up one morning those Perfect plants quality went all the way to Normal.

Cowplant Berry can also be added to this list of things bugged. My sim just planted a Cowplant Berry and after she finished the newly planted Cowplant just vanished.

For some reason my sim can see it and keeps trying to plant it over and over again.

Try a fully formed cowplant just vanishing, which is what happened in my game... My sims kept 'playing' with it but obviously nothing was there anymore so I had to delete it.

All my other fully grown plants that my sim had previously harvested over a number of days reverted back to the 'just planted' stage which sucked. Others just completed vanished too :(

Hopefully this will get fixed soon.

Ok, @troshalom, but that is the bug with basil and sage not showing correctly, not the one with plants changing in quality.
I never said the one with the wonky showing plants wasn't a bug, because I seen it on parsley in game myself (didn't have sage, though).
I've also found a problem in the tuning data of both basil and sage and have fixed it. There might be more though so I'm not sure whether my fix is working as intended. Anyone interested in testing can download the file here:
    http://bienchen83.bplaced.net/s4/mods/sims4me_basilsagefix.rar
(please note that it's not compatible with my plantsgodormantinwinter mod, that one will get an update when I'm through with testing)

Btw, I didn't even say that the quality problem wasn't a bug, I only said it MIGHT not even be a bug. Just remember the weird mass of wonky situational clothing that isn't a bug, but a design choice EA made.

@83bienchen Did you MeToo the bug report? It is pretty cool you can program and tune the game yourself. BTW, it is a bug with all plants reverting to a previous state. It has happened in my game with the cowplant and other plants.
  • Yes, I did.

It has not happend with any other plants in my game, but I don't have Eco Living so there might be some plant bugs that only occur with the EP installed. It could also be possible that the bad tuning for basil and sage affects other plants as well if they are on the same lot. All I know is that it didn't happen at all in my save during testing.

From what I read, the cowplant bug is a different one. The tuning for the cowplant is also entirely different. As I don't play with cowplants, I do not intend to work on a fix for cowplants.
  • I have a legacy family living in Willow Creek on the Oakenstead lot. I literally did nothing to encourage a green footprint but over time it went green all by itself. My next generation rolled the botanist aspiration. So started her off planting a few things. By next morning they were of perfect quality, so, no chance of evolving any plant for her aspiration!
So I found a cheat to bring the footprint back to neutral, but within the week back to green again!
I have turned off all eco footprints in game options and I can now at least fulfill her aspiration. The plants are growing normally and sustaining their quality, and I successfully grew a fully formed cowplant.
I'm still finding that some plants disappear but having more luck if planted indoors in pots.
The herbs shrink after harvesting but become their normal size when next ready to harvest.

If you shift and click on the Cowplant, then click Reset Object, it will come back. This didn't work for regular plants, I just waited a few Sim days and eventually they grew back. Nothing has disappeared completely for me except this random trash plant.

Just snipping this out because I think this is actually correct. I had my sims leave Sulani for a festival, when they came back the footprint was neutral. All the plants lost some quality, and could be evolved again. ALL of them. I evolved a few, and suddenly the footprint was green again....and all plants were perfect. Yet again.

I don't even get surprised anymore, of the design choices they make. Like the "situational" clothing. And now the plants. Good thing I didn't need to evolve any for the aspiration....yet.
