I tried with the save I've currently got, since he's already in the acting career. No mods. Still no chance to follow him to the set. This is what was happening before. At that time I did a Repair Game, then ended up doing a Game Folder Refresh when that didn't work. Then I moved my Mods, saves and Tray back into the game and voila all has been going well until today. Just yesterday (Real Time) I was able to join him and he was able to complete all of the scenes. That's where the trouble first started. He could never finish that final scene. Some suggested the co-star had left the set. Since then I've made it a point to either rehearse with the co-star or to chat with them. I may start a new game save and see if that does the trick, but how many times can I start a new game save, if I expect to get anywhere with the Sims of choice? I suppose if it's a matter of too many saves in a file, I could go back to the beginning and delete the earliest ones, but still. I shouldn't have to go through this all of the time.
ETA: The 'new' Sim arrived without any skills, and there was no way I could cheat him up. I took too much time trying this out, then it dawned on me to place my original Sim and his family into My Library. Normally, without MCCC installed any cheated Skills would be gone. But, since I had played both him and his wife for awhile, now, adding to their skills through normal gameplay, I was very happy to see they had them, still. Plus their born-ingame children have what progress they have made, none cheated either. Plus, he still had his job as an Actor, the gig right there waiting for the day to arrive. Phew!
Unfortunately, I ran out of time in yesterday's game play. I got to Monday, but not noon on Monday, when the gig is set to start. I shall have to see if the new save fixes the situation a bit later on today. Thanks for the hint!
