The "Never Nude" and "Eccentric" traits would've been perfect in DU

Like, in real life, some people just don't care that they are taking a bath naked on a open/public shower, some people feel embarassed, and some people wouldn't even allow themselves to feel embarassed and would use a swimsuit while bathing on a open/public shower. Also, it would be cool if I had a sim inclined to have a greater talent at inventing, like learning the skill faster, have a higher chance of discovering new inventions while dabbling or inventing, etc... We are seriously lacking on the trait aspect of the game, were most of the traits are closed as reward traits.
I really wish they would release all Satisfaction reward traits to be usable on the CAS, as well as including the regular CAS traits as rewards. Why? Well, some people are naturally morning people, so what if I wanted to play a Morning Sim from the start? Most peopel don't even bother to take a look at the Satisfaction Rewards list. Maybe just leave the Aspiration Reward traits locked for us to feel inspired to accomplish them, but... come one. Give me the tools to create a relatable/deep sim. PLEASE EA I AM BEGGING, ALMOST CRYING, I JUST WANT A FUN GAME TO PLAY. I just want to create my own stories, were the characters are not limited to just a few personality blocks. AAAAAA
maybe paralives will have a bunch of traits when it releases

Why just in DU? I'd say they would fit in with the whole game.

@Nindigo I mean that it was the perfect opportunity for them to add the traits, but... If they can add it anywhere, then add it anywhere. All traits are needed, as well as more slots for us to use WITHOUT. CHEATS.

@Pamtastic72 I love the way they implement those types of traits into the gameplay like they did in Parenthood, its more rewarding than just being able to buy it, cuz it has some difficulty to it. The DU one as I know is just one trait called "Higher Education", which you get from completing the aspiration. I'm not opposed to reward traits, or apiration raward traits, but they should add regular traits too.

@Camkat Its pretty obvious to me that the budget is the problem. The technology advances, the game gets more complex, but EA don't invest money on the budget?! Like... Thats why Sims 4 packs have that half-baked feel to them.
  • Yeah there needs to be more personality options. Procrastinator and studious would of been great as an added trait option too.

I would dare to say this is a huge dealbreaker for me @babajayne the game is about the sims themselves, and so far they are the weakest point in Sims 4. They didn't add one thing to improve our sims behaviour since the game released, besides the parentign shaping our sims personality, but still... the parenting traits are locked for sims that you play through their childhood/teenagehood. What If I wanted to create a Responsible or a Bad Mannered YA sim on the CAS?! :(

There are cheats for that. You can open up the cheat window and using testingcheats true hit enter and then type in traits.equip_BadManners. Basically by using this formula you can undo all of the good Values, or assign good or bad to an older Sim you didn't raise in game, or even divest, I'm guessing, the Sim that was well-raised in game. If you wish to give them good traits use: traits.equip_trait lifeSkills Responsible. If the Sim has good traits, be certain to remove them first, before you assign to them the opposite or bad trait.

    Good Manners
    Bad Manners
    Responsible
    Irresponsible
    Mediator
    Argumentative
    Compassionate
    Unfeeling
    EmotionalControl
    Uncontrolled

Hope this helps you in pursuit of a fun gaming session. :)
  • @GalacticGal thanks for your help, but as I said in other comments I know we have those cheats, I just pointed that I wanted the game to make things easier if we don't want to cheat. If I can't raise an YA than the game should let me pick the traits I wanted. Also, the more personality building blocks, more fun it is to create characters. I wouldn't feel like sim x and y have the same personality. I don't think I'm a good speaker because nobody seems to understand the point of my discussion. I'm not against reward traits, I actually think the other CAS traits should be added to the reward list too for those who want to add them later in game (like pretend you are roleplaying, lets say sim X suffered something and acquired the gloomy trait during gameplay, then you could go and buy it in the reward panel, without cheating because you wouldn't need too). I just wanted all traits to be chooseable while building our sims, besides the ones attached to aspirations that can be auto-added to your sim when choosing the aspiration. Also, not sure if anyone noticed, but they removed the whims. What about the people who don't play with whims? They could use the rewards in CAS. But, hm... I guess nobody cares.
  • I agree that these traits would be cool, but I wanted to see something like "School Spirit" and the like at the university, a pity that nothing came.
  • I wouldn't mind a return of those traits. Sims 4 lacks negative traits in general. I really loved the technophobe trait too. Sims 3 did have a much more balanced trait system as much as I don't care for it as much as personality points.

I completely agree with you. I miss sims having flaws and features that really influence something in the game. The sims 4 seems to be kind of generic at this point, which is quite frustrating.
  • We already have "eccentric", it's called "erratic". There's also emotional bomb, no touching, vain street for your "quirky" sims.
