I don't think there is a toggle. But I have UI Cheats Extensions installed, and so if the sentiment moodlets are feeling a little overpowering or inappropriate I just right click on it and it disappears. Could be a good compromise? Then you get to have sentiments but just delete the ones you dont want :)
