The Plum Tree App Linking Question

I'm linking family trees, and the Sim I'm linking between trees--when the link is clicked, her avatar disappears. This is only when I click the link to see the other tree. If I am using the editor mode to see my trees, her avatar is there. I've tried unlinking and relinking the trees, and changing her avatar. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
