The reason simmers welcolme other life simulator games.

I want to start by saying.I do not hate Sims 4.I like the game, but I will say the game is disappointing as a fourth installment in the franchise.EA became gimicky, and focus more on appearence.Than revouloutionary game play.
I love the sims, and life simulator games in general.I have a lot of farm games on my pc.Still nothing like the sims.Ea had no competition.I think competition is a good thing. It for one gives me more variety. Also it makes Ea put more effort in their products.

  • As a used to be professional sailor back when I was several decades younger, I can attest to how well the sea is done! I was amazed by how much it lookes like the real ocean and how the ship responds to the water's movement. A taste of home way back when! Great music in that clip, too.

To Cinebar's point, I'm another that misses the TS2 sliders. EA can say all it wants, but I have much more control over facial features with the sliders than with what TS4 offers. Not to mention the ability to mix and match overall faces - 26x25x9 beats 19 any day.

Ah, that's the Unity engine? The water in Sea of Thieves is epic! Even during sea battles, the effects are stunning. <3

Yeah it is pretty amazing. I have a friend who was self teaching himself Unity since he's been developing a mobile game. I really enjoy chats with him and we had a nice chat about Unity and Unreal engines and he's been telling me about them. Sea of Thieves is really fun, but much more enjoyable playing with friends since it is a MMO game. It can be played single player too, just more dangerous sailing on your own with sharks and giant squids and other pirate ships.

What if certain points of the rig were coded to interact with certain points on an object or on another Sim?

Yes, something like that, would be amazing if that was possible.

I’d actually like an artstyle like that for Sims. Stylized yet amazingly realistic in a good way. I’d love that for the sims (the characters) as well.

Yeah the characters are pretty fun. I like that they have a lot of character to them and aren't all perfect.

I think stylized yet realistic would fit the Sims series well because that is what the Sims is, is the perfect balance between fantasy and reality. I do appreciate how Sims 3 tried this approach at least. I know Sims Medieval graphics were pretty amazing and detailed too. Really nice character design with that side game.

I believe the CAS system of Sims 4 was actually in the hands of the same person who did Medieval? That system is absolutely great (it’s much easier to create totally different types of people in Medieval than it is in Sims 3). I really like those characters in the other game lol. They’re indeed cartoony yet in a realistic way, if that makes sense. They make me laugh (Sims in 4 I’m sorry to say do not).
  • The characters of Sea of Thieves are quite stylized. Even so, they have nice facial expressions and the movements are good.

I've never played Medieval. The faces are excellent. There's a lot of character and individuality to them. So long as once they're animated, they don't become overly exaggerated. The over-exaggeration of expressions in TS4 annoys me at times. Once I leave CAS, the characters often don't look as they did when I first created them. That's why, most of the time, I prefer to use poses to convey emotion rather than to use the stock facial expressions and body language.
