The rent rate?

Your jump in utility bills sounds like the ridiculously absurd increase when using a thermostat in your home.

I don't think it's the thermostat. One of the weeks it was nearly 100k was during spring when the thermostat was off the whole time, and one of the weeks the thermostat was on all the time during winter the bills were less than 10k

Did your bill come due while you were visiting an expensive community lot? That happened to me when my sim spent the night at a community lot once. But that was a couple of years ago.

Nope, i've had multiple toddlers so staying at my own lot to max all of their skills to level 5. That's why it was so weird to me, happened a few times... Just seems random almost aha

Whoopsy! Tht's extreme for the bills! :neutral: I use a different money system in my game, because I don't trust (or understand) the game's money system. So my sims would not need to pay such high bills.

But it doesn't seem quite right? Could it be a bug? Do you have CC or mods that might interfere with the bills or the house value? Did you money cheat, in case adding funds might raise the bills?

Do you have Seasons and have the thermostat in your home? That makes the rent (and bills in general) skyrocket. Get your sims the frugal trait from the rewards store and don’t turn it on until they are complaining about it being too hot or too cold.

@Simmerville - i've disabled most of my mods, just kept Gamer trait and Risky Woohoo. And i don't play with cheats. I do legacy challenges so i start from scratch either in cheapest apartment or house and work my way to the half a million dollar house i now own lol I've noticed it happen for few years, since at least City Living came out but it has never jumped so much.

@Rebbilina - Yes, i have Seasons and a thermostat but as i said before it's inconsistent. One winter when the thermostat is on flat out the bills are $6k, the next winter when the thermostat is flat out again its $86k and same thing for hotter seasons when i have thermostat off. It's not huge issue my sims can afford it (its more of a nuisance than anything) but just thought it was strange and possibly a bug.

Yeah, that is strange. And you don’t play on rotational and accidentally left it on? I did that in my rotational once and came back to a very hefty bill. Otherwise, it must be a bug or they for some reason made the rate inconsistent. On the other hand, inconsistent thermostat bills would be realistic, but not that inconsistent and other bills should be more inconsistent in that case too.
