I can understand why people would be annoyed at them taking a pack feature and moving it into the base game. It's totally fair to feel ripped off, so matter how long it's been since it was released. EPs are expensive and if you'd known such and such feature would be free later on, it could have affected your decision to purchase.
That said, I'm fine with the calendar possibly coming to the base game. .It wasn't a big draw of Seasons, it was mostly there to facilitate the bigger features, which I actually cared about It's also not doing all that much in Seasons, whereas putting it in the base game will let them expand on the feature way more. Plus if they get rid of the City Living and Snowy Escape pop-ups and just put them on the calendar, that would be hella.
This right here. I didn't buy Seasons because of the calendar feature, I bought it for seasons, weather, and holidays. As well as some of the CAS and BB items.
The calendar, as far as I'm concerned is just a way to keep track of these things. So as long as they're not patching seasons, weather, and holidays into the base game (which I assume they're not going to do anyway) I really couldn't care less.
I can get people being upset by the idea of them making a paid feature for free. Yes, it sucks but considering it's not a main feature or the selling point, it doesn't make Seasons worth any less in value.
Now if they ripped mermaids out of Island Living to put into base game, that's a different story. That's a feature that actually adds some value to Island Living (or at least to me.)
